Convorees, referred to individually as a convor, and sometimes jocularly as Trandoshan birds, constituted a species of strikingly beautiful, dignified, and refined owl.
The informal expression "chopped convor liver" was employed to indicate an individual who perceived themselves as receiving diminished attention or consideration compared to another, exemplified by the question, "Do I look like chopped convor liver?"
Convorees possessed a pair of eyes, a pair of wings, a beak, a grasping tail, and plumage that was gold, green, or brown in hue. Despite their compact and stout physiques, they demonstrated exceptional aerial abilities. Convorees bore a notable resemblance to Kiros birds originating from the planet Kiros, which also featured prehensile tails. The distinction between the two species lay in the coloration of their feathers, with Kiros birds exhibiting purple and blue feathers as opposed to the gold and brown feathers of convorees. Throughout the galaxy, convorees were highly sought after as pets.
The moon Wasskah served as the native habitat of convorees, although they could be encountered in various locations across the galaxy, including the planets Atollon and Takodana. Individuals who had visited Malachor recounted brief sightings of convorees.
These avian creatures shared a profound connection with both the Force and Ahsoka Tano. The convor named Morai maintained a spiritual bond with the Daughter, and following the Daughter's demise, Morai became a well-known companion of Tano.
Convorees were known for their cunning nature, and within the jungles of Wasskah, they operated in pairs to defend themselves against predators such as momongs. Their strategy involved jointly lifting these animals into the air and subsequently releasing them from the treetops. The dietary habits of convorees primarily consisted of insects and small rodents.
Superstitions surrounding convorees were prevalent across numerous cultures, with these birds being regarded as omens, embodiments, or spiritual guides. Notably, in Togruta mythology, ancient heroes perceived convorees as reincarnations of departed ancestors who would manifest during times of adversity. Togrutan funeral rituals often culminated in the presentation of a convor hatchling to the bereaved.
During the era of the Clone Wars, a convor was offered for sale at a price of 60 credits in the settlement of Pons Ora situated on the planet Abafar.

Sometime after 34 ABY, the Safari droid Aree and the cam droid CAM were dispatched to Atollon by the Galactic Society of Creature Enthusiasts with the objective of studying convoree behavior. Aree discovered that convorees could be attracted by camouflaging a cam droid to resemble a convor, but befriending convorees is more effective by simply being oneself without any disguise.
The name "Convorees" is derived from the name of Dave Filoni's spouse, E. Anne Convery. When questioned about the bird's presence in "The Mystery of Chopper Base" and "Twilight of the Apprentice," he indicated that its appearance held a more profound significance: "In certain respects, one could assert that it functions as a messenger or an observer. It undeniably represents something of consequence. And... I would prefer that fans engage in debate—however, I would suggest... that the entity of which this creature serves as an avatar has, in fact, made prior appearances within the animated Star Wars universe. Proceed with decryption from that point."
