Momong

Momongs, also referred to as Trandoshan monkeys, constituted a primate species inhabiting the trees within the forests of Wasskah, which serves as a moon orbiting the planet Trandosha. These creatures possessed six limbs, a lengthy tail, prominent ears, and green eyes. Their fur exhibited a predominantly orange hue, interspersed with sporadic patches of black and white. As carnivores and adept hunters, momongs primarily preyed upon the yellow birds recognized as convorees. Evidence suggests they possessed at least semi-sentient capabilities, demonstrated by their capacity to employ rudimentary tools or weapons. During the era of the Clone Wars, numerous momongs managed to disperse beyond their native world. In the year 20 BBY, several momongs were confined within cages situated in the Governor's tower under the custody of the Zygerrian Darts D'Nar following the Separatists' relocation of the Togruta people from their home planet. A momong was observed within a slave market on Zygerria, where it engaged in a duel against a Kowakian monkey-lizard utilizing miniature swords.

Behind the scenes

The initial appearance of the momongs occurred in "Wookiee Hunt," the twenty-second installment of the third season of the animated television program Star Wars: The Clone Wars. However, their identification as such was exclusively provided within the episode's corresponding online guide. At one juncture, there were plans to include a reference to momongs in Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion. Nevertheless, alterations to the script led to the transformation of "momong" into "monong," thereby introducing a novel species.
