Acorvus

Acorvus, alternatively named Lazerian III, represented the third planetary body orbiting within the Lazerian system. This system itself revolved around the yellow star known as Lazerian. This planet was situated in the Kira sector, which is part of the Trailing Sectors region within the larger Expansion Region. Acorvus, along with the other celestial bodies of the Lazerian system, was positioned along the Harrin Trade Corridor and the Kira Run hyperlanes.

The surface of the planet was characterized by a desolate [desert](/article/desert/legends] landscape, and it lacked any natural moons. Its atmosphere was classified as Type II, necessitating the use of breath masks for survival. Being the closest planetary neighbour to Lazerian IV, Acorvus was once explored by the inhabitants of that world. Over time, Acorvus transitioned into a penal colony and a destination for exile, housing political objectors and criminals. Access to the planet was restricted to authorized personnel only.

Behind the scenes

John Terra conceived Acorvus, which was first featured in Twin Stars of Kira, a 1993 supplement for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game, published by West End Games. An instance of a misspelling of the planet's name as "Acoruus" appeared in the book. The 2009 reference work The Essential Atlas located the Lazerian system, and consequently Acorvus, within grid square N-15.
