The Lazerian system, situated within the Expansion Region, consisted of nine planets and was classified as a system. Notably, it was the location of the planet Lazerian IV.
Found in the Expansion Region, the Lazerian system served as the junction where the Harrin Trade Corridor met the Enarc Run. The Kira Run, a relatively short hyperlane, linked the Lazerian System to the Ropagi system by way of the Kira system. The Arrgaw system and the Cerenia system were located nearby. A ship equipped with a Class One hyperdrive could travel to Arrgaw in approximately twenty-three hours, while reaching Cerenia would take two days and four hours. The well-documented Kira Run required a minimum of two hours to traverse.

The Humans indigenous to Lazerian IV achieved spaceflight capabilities at an early stage, while dedicating comparatively less resources to exploring their planet's oceanic depths. They successfully mapped and surveyed the entire system, establishing colonies on two planets named Acorvus and Dborian. Acorvus functioned as a prison colony, while Dborian served as a mining installation. Further mining operations were set up within the Rokwahl Asteroid Belt, alongside a network of transponder buoys designed to guide traffic.
Due to its strategic position along the Harrin Trade Corridor, the system evolved into a significant commercial hub, experiencing high levels of activity. The importance of Lazerian IV grew even more when the Kira Run saw increased use around 0 ABY. The stars associated with the two terminating systems, Lazerian and Ropagi, became collectively known as the "Twin Stars of Kira."
The Lazerian system was under the rule of a monarchy operating within a caste-based social structure. The Lazerians, while hesitant to embrace new concepts, demonstrated unwavering loyalty to the Galactic Republic. Following the rise of the Galactic Empire, the Lazerians maintained their allegiance to the new order, even after the supposed death of Palpatine. The Imperial presence in the system remained minimal, primarily consisting of a detachment from Imperial Customs and several starfighter squadrons.
The majority of the system's planets consisted of insignificant, desolate, and uninhabited rocky bodies or gas giants. Lazerian IV and its associated colonies held the most significance.
Lazerian IV, a terrestrial planet, had the highest population within the system. It was inhabited by a substantial human population who governed the planet and the system. However, the planet was also the home of the native Akwins, an aquatic species residing in the oceans. They coexisted with the Lazerians, who were unaware of their existence.
