The Twin Stars of Kira represented the terminal points of the Kira Run hyperlane, and consisted of two stars: Lazerian and Ropagi. The phrase "Twin Stars of Kira" evolved in its significance over time, becoming something of a misnomer as culture spread. Despite potentially implying a binary star system, the term actually denoted the two stars located at either end of the Kira Run, which also encompassed the similarly named Kira system. The Lazerian system and Lazerian itself marked an intersection of the Kira Run and the Harrin Trade Corridor, whereas the Ropagi system formed a junction with the Enarc Run. These Twin Stars were separated by a hyperspace jump of two hours along the Kira Run.
John Terra conceived of the Twin Stars of Kira, first presenting them in the 1993 sourcebook Twin Stars of Kira, a supplement for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game by West End Games.
