Alkur was the initial planet in the Lazerian system. Situated inside the Kira sector within the Trailing Sectors section of the Expansion Region, it was considered worthless. This planet was a barren, rocky landscape with searing hot temperatures and lacked any moons. It orbited the yellow star named Lazerian, and its location was along the trade routes called the Harrin Trade Corridor and the Kira Run. The inhabitants of Lazerian IV at one time explored and mapped it.
John Terra developed Alkur, and it first appeared in Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game's Twin Stars of Kira, a 1993 add-on by West End Games. The Lazerian system, and consequently Alkur, was located in grid square N-15 in the 2009 reference guide The Essential Atlas.
