Kelro existed as the second planet within the Lazerian system. This world, situated in the Kira sector of the Trailing Sectors region of the Expansion Region, was positioned along the trade routes called the Harrin Trade Corridor and the Kira Run. A yellow star, named Lazerian, was orbited by this desolate and searing hot planet, which possessed a rocky surface and lacked any moons. The inhabitants of Lazerian IV conducted exploration and mapping activities on Kelro, eventually deeming it to be without value.
The creation of Kelro is credited to John Terra, and it made its initial appearance in Twin Stars of Kira, a 1993 sourcebook that supplemented Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game by West End Games. The Lazerian system, including Kelro, was located within grid square N-15 according to the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas.
