An ARC heavy gunner team using Z-6 rotary blaster cannons
ARC heavy gunners, or Advanced Recon Commando heavy gunners, served as the vanguard for the Advanced Recon Commandos, utilizing devastating heavy weaponry.
These troopers devastated Separatist vehicles with rapid-firing, powerful armaments like the Reciprocating quad blaster or the Z-6 rotary blaster cannon. Their specialized armor included a direct connection from the helmet HUD to their heavy weapons, which provided enhanced targeting capabilities. Some ARC heavy gunners also carried PLX-1 portable missile launchers, DC-15S, V-1 thermal detonators and HX2 antipersonnel mines.
During the Clone Wars, ARC heavy weapon specialists saw action on battlefields such as Geonosis, Kamino, Rhen Var and Kashyyyk.
During the Battle of Hypori, a team of these gunners supported the ARC trooper squad in their mission to rescue the Jedi strike force.
Rail-class Advanced Recon Commandos represented a variation of the ARC heavy gunner. They also utilized Z-6 rotary cannons and were among the trooper types found within the Anti-troopers following the Declaration of a New Order. As part of the Kamino Uprising, Anti-troopers fought against Imperial stormtroopers and Boba Fett on Kamino.
