Adye Prittick

Adye Prittick was a male admiral within the Galactic Empire's navy. Following the Empire's loss at the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY, Prittick found himself among the surviving Imperial officers. As the highest-ranking admiral after the Death Squadron's retreat to the planet Annaj, he dispatched a private message to Governor Wilek Nereus on Bakura. In this message, he communicated the destruction of the second Death Star and the deaths of both Emperor Palpatine and the Sith Lord Darth Vader at Endor. His inability to decide on the Death Squadron's future strategy resulted in a division, with several officers departing with their forces. This, in Prittick's view, effectively eliminated the possibility of a renewed assault on the Rebel fleet at Endor.

Biography

Serving as an admiral in the navy of the Galactic Empire, Adye Prittick was male. 4 ABY saw Prittick witness the Rebel Alliance's significant victory over the Empire during the Battle of Endor. This battle resulted in the destruction of the Empire's second Death Star battle station, as well as the deaths of Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader, the Sith Lord. As the fleet of the Empire fell into chaos near the battle's conclusion, Gilad Pellaeon, the captain of the Star Destroyer Chimaera, assumed command. He then gave the order for the Imperial Death Squadron to pull back to Annaj, a nearby planet. Once the fleet arrived in orbit, Prittick was determined to be the highest-ranking admiral.

Prittick informed Governor Wilek Nereus of Bakura about the defeat at Endor, also mentioning that the surviving Imperial ships were gathering near Annaj. Nereus then shared the contents of this message with his dinner guests. Among these guests were Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa, both Rebels, who had previously assisted Bakura's Imperial forces in fending off an invasion by the xenophobic Ssi-ruuk. Prittick's communication served to confirm that the Rebels' account of the events that transpired at Endor was accurate, as far as Nereus was concerned.

Despite his rank, Prittick could not decide on the fleet's future actions, causing a split. Admiral Blitzer Harrsk and other officers left with their ships. Consequently, Death Squadron was reduced to just twelve Star Destroyers. Prittick felt this was insufficient to guarantee victory if they returned to Endor. Instead, he commanded the fleet to retreat to the planet Yag'Dhul.

Personality and traits

Adye Prittick, despite being the highest-ranking admiral of Death Squadron after the Empire's loss at Endor, could not formulate a plan for the remaining fleet at Annaj. This lack of decision-making led to the fleet's eventual fragmentation.

Behind the scenes

Admiral Prittick was originally mentioned in The Truce at Bakura, a book by Kathy Tyers published in 1994, with only a single line of dialogue by Governor Nereus. His first name, "Adye," was given in The Essential Guide to Warfare, which was released in 2012.
