The Agents of Ossus were a clandestine group of individuals who could use the Force. They were established during the rise of the Galactic Empire. Jin-Lo Rayce, a former Padawan who lived through Order 66, founded the group. Their mission was to preserve the legacy of the Jedi amidst the oppressive darkness of the Empire.
Rayce, having escaped Order 66 and Darth Vader's assault on the Jedi Temple, initially fled to the Coruscant underworld. He then journeyed to Chandrila, a Core World. There, he dedicated himself to finding other survivors of the Great Jedi Purge. Unfortunately, he only found untrained individuals who were Force-sensitives. Displaying resilience, he organized these adepts into secret cells, teaching them the fundamentals of Force use. He named his organization after Ossus, the world that was once a famous repository of Jedi knowledge and was (at the time) lost. Their goal was to safeguard the knowledge of the Jedi and keep it hidden from the Galactic Empire.
Rayce instructed his followers to prioritize common weapons like blasters and vibroblades, rather than the lightsaber. They developed impressive Force-enhanced skills with these weapons. They also mastered concealing their presence, both in the Force and visually, from the ever-watchful Inquisitorius. Due to frequent captures by Imperial agents, the group became cautious and reluctant to significantly expand their numbers, remaining largely confined to the developed Core regions.
