Jin-Lo Rayce, a male Human Jedi Padawan, served as an apprentice to Jocasta Nu, the esteemed Jedi librarian, throughout the duration of the Clone Wars. As the war concluded and the Great Jedi Purge commenced, Rayce narrowly escaped the attack on the Jedi Temple, an assault orchestrated by Darth Vader, the Dark Lord of the Sith. For several months, Rayce successfully evaded the pursuing forces of the newly established Galactic Empire on Coruscant, eventually finding refuge as a stowaway aboard a transport en route to the planet of Chandrila, where he briefly resided. Subsequently, he embarked on a journey across numerous planets situated within the Core, Inner Rim, and Mid Rim regions, seeking out any surviving members of the Jedi Order. Upon concluding that the Jedi were effectively extinct, Rayce returned to the worlds inhabited by various Force-sensitives he had previously encountered, initiating the formation of cells composed of Force adepts. In remembrance of Ossus, the planet housing the Jedi library that met its destruction during the Great Sith War thousands of years prior, Rayce named his group the Agents of Ossus.

From a young age, Jin-Lo Rayce, a male Human, displayed a profound fascination with the history of the Jedi Order, spending countless evenings within the Jedi Archives situated in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Eventually, he became an apprentice to Jocasta Nu, a distinguished Jedi Master who held the position of Chief Librarian of the Archives. Nu revealed to Rayce the clandestine routes that provided access to and egress from the Jedi Temple. During this period, Rayce forged a friendship with Sha Koon, a Kel Dor Jedi Knight, and shared his knowledge of these secret passageways with her.
In 19 BBY, the concluding year of the Galactic Republic's conflict against the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Palpatine, the Supreme Chancellor, enacted Order 66, mandating the clone troopers of the Republic Army to eliminate the Jedi. When Darth Vader, Palpatine's Sith apprentice—formerly the Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker—and the 501st Legion of clone troopers assaulted the Jedi Temple, Nu provided Rayce with a datapad containing blueprints of Coruscant's underworld, along with several datachips. She instructed him to use the secret passages to escape the Temple. During Rayce's flight, Vader killed Nu when she attempted to prevent the Dark Lord from activating the Temple's signal beacon, which would have summoned any surviving Jedi back to Coruscant.
Over the following months, Rayce successfully evaded the forces of the newly formed Galactic Empire. He eventually managed to conceal himself on a transport headed for the planet Chandrila, where he remained for a brief period before embarking on a search for any Jedi who had survived the purge. Rayce journeyed to various worlds in the Core, Inner Rim, and [Mid Rim](/article/mid_rim-legends], but his efforts proved fruitless. However, during his travels, Rayce encountered several individuals who exhibited sensitivity to the Force. After concluding that no Jedi remained, Rayce returned to the worlds where he had met these individuals and began to train them in the ways of the Force, despite his own incomplete training. Rayce established numerous cells of Force-using agents on these worlds. He named his group of Force adepts the Agents of Ossus, in honor of Ossus, a planet that once housed the Great Jedi Library until its destruction during the Great Sith War in 3996 BBY.

Jin-Lo Rayce, as a Jedi, held a deep fascination for the historical accounts of the Jedi Order, dedicating considerable time to studying the records preserved within the Jedi Archives. It was during this period that Rayce cultivated a close bond with the Kel Dor Jedi Sha Koon, even sharing with her confidential details regarding the secret passageways within the Jedi Temple. Following the onset of the Jedi Purge, Rayce demonstrated remarkable resourcefulness in evading detection by Imperial forces, scavenging for essential resources to sustain his survival. Ultimately, after relinquishing his search for surviving Jedi, Rayce redirected his focus towards the establishment of a new order, despite his own incomplete training. Rayce placed significant importance on preserving the lore of the Jedi, viewing his agents not as lost individuals, but as hidden repositories of that knowledge.
Rayce wielded a lightsaber, although his training in its use was incomplete, and he lost it during his escape from the Jedi Temple. He also possessed the ability to use the Force to guide a blaster and vibroblade. Rayce instructed his pupils in the use of the Force to both conceal themselves from the Empire's Force-hunters and effectively wield these weapons. He imparted to the Agents of Ossus the various techniques he had developed during his time navigating the streets of Coruscant and other planets.
The 2008 The Force Unleashed Campaign Guide first mentioned Jin-Lo Rayce, providing background information for the Force-using organization known as the Agents of Ossus.
