The Aii'tkian Anthropologists were a collective of scientists who were active during the period when the Galactic Empire held power.
During the era of the Galactic Civil War, the Aii'tkian Anthropologists conducted operations within the Dantooine system, specifically exploring the region designated as Area D-502. Their investigations led to the discovery and collection of unique starship components, which provided evidence of an ancient species capable of interstellar travel. Furthermore, they also operated within the regions known as Asair's Ribbon and Isryn's Veil. Due to inadequate protection from the Empire, the Aii'tkian Anthropologists forged alliances with merchants and salvage operators, such as the O.S.S. D-502 Junk Guild, to defend themselves against threats like the Zel'iphian Slave Traders Guild. In terms of space travel, Aii'tkian pilots utilized Z-95-AF4 Headhunters.
Around the time that the Battle of Yavin took place, the Aii'tkian Anthropologists, in collaboration with the O.S.S. Junk Guild, unearthed a novel type of copper within Area D-502 of the Dantooine system. Subsequently, Aii'tkian researchers began to assess its potential suitability for use in the construction of starship components.
The Aii'tkian Anthropologists made an appearance in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game that was developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts. The game was eventually shut down on December 15, 2011. The Aii'tkian Anthropologists were introduced to the game through the Jump to Lightspeed expansion pack, which was released on October 27, 2004.
