Akku Seii

Akku Seii, a distinguished master of the Anzati, dedicated himself to training assassins on his homeworld in the decades leading up to the Clone Wars. Notably, he instructed both the late Jedi Master Tholme and the infamous contract killer Katichak. As the Clone Wars unfolded, other Anzati instructors began to impart their knowledge to Morgukai warriors on Saleucami for Sora Bulq and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, leaving Seii to oversee the training of the remaining pupils. Bound by the Anzati assassin's code, Akku Seii found himself unable to disclose the contract with Bulq to Tholme when the Jedi Master arrived to investigate, resulting in a stalemate. To resolve this, Seii unleashed his students upon his former pupil, who effortlessly defeated them. Through a subtle gesture, he directed Tholme towards the truth by revealing the absence of the other master assassins.

Biography

Seii and Tholme speak.

Hailing from the planet Anzat, Akku Seii, in accordance with the traditions of his species, underwent rigorous training under an Anzati martial arts master to become a proficient assassin. Demonstrating exceptional skill in all forms of combat, he ascended to the ranks of the great Anzati masters. Adhering to the customary practice of one-on-one instruction, akin to the master-padawan relationship of the Old Jedi Order, Akku Seii mentored both the future contract killer Katichak and the human Tholme. Following his training, Tholme pursued Katichak for his crimes, ultimately killing him, and then joined the ranks of the Jedi.

As the Clone Wars progressed, Count Dooku strategized for the war's final stages. His plan involved prolonging sieges in the Outer Rim to divert the Jedi's attention from the impending assault on the core world of Coruscant. The Morgukai Shadow Army, a clone combat unit led by the Nikto Warrior Bok, was pivotal to his strategy, intended to tie up significant clone army resources. To train this Shadow Army, Dooku enlisted the services of Dark Jedi Sora Bulq, the project's overseer, and Anzati instructors tasked with imparting their people's assassin martial arts to the new clone army. As the Separatists withdrew numerous masters from Anzat, the few remaining instructors, such as Akku Seii, who had refused the Separatists' offer, were compelled to train multiple students concurrently, a departure from Anzati tradition. While the students received instruction in the fundamental forms of Anzati martial arts, they had yet to achieve mastery.

Through Jedi Master Quinlan Vos, Tholme learned of Sora Bulq's visit to Anzat. Suspecting Separatist activity, he traveled there with his former student Aayla Secura to visit his former master. Eager to impress his mentor, Tholme employed Anzati stealth techniques, silently approaching the meditating Anzati until his lightsaber was at his throat. Impressed by Tholme's skill, as he had not detected the Jedi's presence, the instructor inquired about his return to Anzat and the success of his hunt for Katichak. Tholme explained his pursuit of Bulq and confirmed the assassin's demise.

Bound by the Anzati Code of Honor, which prohibited the disclosure of existing contracts to outsiders, Seii refused to provide information to his former student, citing his silence. He deemed the conversation concluded, believing Tholme, despite his abilities, could not compel him to reveal Bulq's visits to Anzat, as he was bound by the Anzati Code. At that moment, Seii and Tholme were ambushed by his students. His intention was to highlight the scarcity of trainers on Anzat, evidenced by their unusually large number. He warned the Jedi that they would attempt to kill him, advising him not to hesitate in using lethal force. Tholme skillfully incapacitated all the attackers without resorting to killing them. Seii then instructed his students to resume their training. Tholme, recognizing the adepts' fighting style as underdeveloped, was surprised that Seii was training multiple students simultaneously. The Anzati then revealed the lack of available teachers on Anzat at the time. Tholme concluded that Bulq had recruited the Anzati for his own purposes. The Jedi thanked Seii and returned to his spaceship. Shortly thereafter, he uncovered the Morgukai shadow army on Saleucami, which was ultimately destroyed by the Republic after a five-month siege.
