Leia and her belt
A distinctive belt was traditionally donned by the women belonging to the noble families of Alderaan. It was commonly paired with the Alderaan royal family traditional gown, for instance, the attire worn by Princess Leia Organa. The princess was seen wearing this belt during the notable events of the Battle of Yavin, as well as aboard the medical frigate called Redemption in the year 3 ABY.
Production Notes
This belt, which made its initial appearance in Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope and then briefly at the conclusion of Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back, was fabricated by the prop master Arnold Jackson for A New Hope, assisting the costume designer John Mollo.
The original belt was constructed from white leather and embellished with aluminum components. A second, very similar belt was created specifically for the concluding award ceremony scene.
