Alluuvia, a planet situated within the Elrood sector, is part of galactic history. The mining operations taking place on the planet, managed by the Radell Mining Corporation, were under the supervision of an ecologically conscious Ithorian.
From space, Alluuvia presented as a picturesque ocean world, but its true value lay hidden beneath the waves. In the depths of its oceans were concentrated deposits of valuable metals and minerals of previously unknown composition. Although these minerals rendered the water toxic to off-worlders, they were found to be immensely valuable in terms of credits.
Shortly after the Battle of Yavin, an exploratory team financed by the Radell Mining Corporation scouted the planet, initiating disputes over ownership with the Scourge, a pirate organization. Radell deployed the Gray Griffins to monitor the exploration, but the Scourge captured the Radell employees and demanded a ransom for their release. Seeking assistance from the Alliance to Restore the Republic, Rebel agents were sent to rescue the Gray Griffins.
Further investigations by the Radell Mining Corporation revealed that Alluuvia was also the native world of the Anguilla species. Consequently, the Corporation began forming a diplomatic delegation to engage with the Anguilla. Simultaneously, Imperial Mining, Ltd., a subsidiary of the Galactic Empire, recognized the planet's potential and dispatched a fleet of Star Destroyers to invade and establish a mining base. Anyar led the native Anguilla in their resistance against the Imperial occupation. With the assistance of Alliance operatives, the Anguilla successfully expelled the Imperials from Alluuvia. Following this, Anyar met with representatives from the Radell Mining Corporation and agreed to allow mining operations to proceed, with the Ithorian named Iych-thae ensuring that environmental impacts would be minimized.
