Anyar was an Anguillan male, specifically the chieftain of an Anguilla tribe residing on the world of Alluuvia throughout the Galactic Civil War, according to legends. During the war, a team of Rebel Alliance operatives journeyed to Alluuvia and met Anyar and his Anguilla people. To demonstrate the integrity of their mission to Anyar, he guided the Rebel agents to a cave beneath the water and challenged them to participate in the Rites of Conch-tar, a revered Anguilla tradition as per legends. Following the Rebels' successful completion of the Rites, Anyar volunteered to supply the agents with hundreds of Anguilla fighters to aid them in an assault on an Imperial installation located on Alluuvia.
