Amikab existed as a male Bith during the time of the Galactic War, a conflict that pitted the Galactic Republic against the reconstituted Sith Empire. The Republic incarcerated him on Belsavis, and because he posed a relatively minor danger, he was held in the Minimum Security Section, close to the Prison Administration Center. Approximately around 3641 BBY, Harvey, another inmate, told him about spotting a smuggler captain famed for defeating [Nok Drayen], but Amikab dismissed this as untrue. The Voidhound was, in reality, present on Belsavis, collaborating with the Republic rather than being imprisoned. He contacted Amikab in an attempt to get to Cell block 923, the location where Ivory was detained; however, the ongoing disturbance made it impossible to get to that area because a Scourge gang had blocked it off. Amikab told the smuggler about a crucial spot that, if attacked, might throw the Scourge troops into disarray.
