During the Galactic Civil War, Annora Calandra served as a regional Inspector Auditor for the Mining Guild, with her operations centered in the Tapani sector.
Her role primarily involved traveling to various Mining Guild members to collect their due membership fees. Annora, before the Battle of Hoth, was a petite woman, appearing slight and in her mid-thirties. Despite her seemingly delicate appearance, she possessed considerable fighting skills, proficient in several martial arts for self-defense.
Annora participated in a plan to detonate an Imperial Torpedo Sphere that was undergoing maintenance at the Tallaani Shipyards. Her fellow conspirators included Lord Vaskel Savill of House Melantha and Doctor Arkeld from the Justice Action Network. Mining companies within the Expanse were being burdened with excessively high tariffs for transporting their ore through the Freeworlds Territory. Annora, frustrated by her superiors' unwillingness to get involved in a scheme that would bring the Empire into the Tapani sector, believed that destroying the Torpedo sphere would expedite the Imperial takeover of the Freeworlds and subsequently eliminate the tariffs. Her main objective in this conspiracy was to gather a group of Mining Guild members willing to collaborate with House Melantha once the Empire gained control of the Freeworlds. Furthermore, she was tasked with contacting the Nok Cartel to orchestrate attacks on shipping convoys in Cadriaan Province, with the aim of diverting Imperial military resources away from Tallaan.
Before the Battle of Hoth, Annora took part in the annual Vor-cal. Originally, Derel Volk was scheduled to represent the Mining Guild at this event, but Annora and her co-conspirators arranged for Derel to be reassigned. It was during this event that the three primary conspirators convened to finalize their plan to destroy the Torpedo sphere. Unbeknownst to Annora, Lord Savill intended to eliminate the Mining Guild official once she had fulfilled her purpose.
