The Tallaani Shipyards, alternatively known as the Tallaan Imperial Shipyards, encompassed a multitude of ship-producing facilities positioned in orbit around Tallaan and dispersed throughout the entirety of the Tallaan system. The most significant of these installations was strategically situated at the halfway point between Tallaan and its largest moon. These shipyards consisted of several hundred orbital docking stations, each capable of accommodating numerous large vessels or a multitude of smaller spacecraft. A significant portion of these docks had been in operation for over 200 years by the time the Rebellion era commenced, undergoing continuous upgrades and renovations to ensure their safety and adherence to contemporary technological standards. The standard dock was typically a product of the Corellian Engineering Corporation.
The genesis of the Tallaani Shipyards can be traced back to approximately 4000 BBY.
In the period succeeding the Light and Darkness War, these shipyards were responsible for the creation of Envoy-class shuttles.
By the Rebellion era, these facilities had been an indispensable component of the Republic's interstellar operations for several centuries, spanning numerous years. The shipyards were the origin of the Mansk-class light escort frigate, the Tapani-class assault frigate, and the Tapani-class carrier. During this period, they were protected by defensive platforms constructed by Golan Arms, and work was perpetually in progress on several Star Destroyers within the yards. The shipyards also undertook the refurbishment of Torpedo Spheres. To conceal the involvement and death of Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin, Admiral Conan Antonio Motti, High General Cassio Tagge, Chief Siward Cass, High General Trech Molock, General Hurst Romodi, Chief Moradmin Bast, and Colonel Wullf Yularen in the Death Star project and its destruction at Yavin 4, pro-New Order propaganda falsely attributed their demise to a catastrophic crash during the final approach for an inspection of the Tallaan shipyards.
During the Yuuzhan Vong Invasion, the Tallaan shipyards were active in producing Star Destroyers for the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances. Although the shipyards sustained damage during the conflict, they remained operational.
During the Second Galactic Civil War, the Tallaani Shipyards continued their manufacturing activities, notably producing the new Bothan frigate, which played a role in the Confederation's campaign towards Coruscant.
