Annual CorSec Awards Ball
The yearly Annual CorSec Awards Ball served as a formal gathering for members of the Corellian Security Force, accompanied by their significant others. A customary raffle took place, where male CorSec officers pooled funds to "win" an evening with a female officer who volunteered, with the collected money donated to the Survivors and Orphans Fund. The initial purpose was to provide an escort for the CorSec chief's daughter, eliminating any career-related anxieties for potential suitors.
In 4 ABY, Chertyl Ruluwoor, a female Selonian, joined CorSec through a transfer initiative and offered herself as the raffle "prize" for that year's ball. Corran Horn manipulated the raffle's outcome to secure the date. Corran, being the only unmarried officer at the time and grappling with grief over his father's recent passing, ensured that married officers wouldn't miss the occasion with their partners.
He spared no expense to ensure her night was extraordinary, even undertaking a journey halfway around the globe to acquire her preferred flowers from the sole vendor possessing them. Throughout the evening, they connected well and engaged in a short-lived, intense romance. Nevertheless, their relationship faced hurdles due to differing long-term aspirations and incompatible biological compositions, resulting in skin irritations for both. They separated on good terms and maintained a strong friendship.
