She suspected a rival existed within CSF Headquarters, a feeling fueled by the near-impossible assignment she received: to single-handedly apprehend Gambo, a particularly violent Houk criminal. Anstiss suffered injuries during Gambo's resistance to the arrest. Ultimately, assistance came in the form of an ally of the Republic.
During the Cold War era, which saw the Galactic Republic and Sith Empire locked in a state of tension, Anstiss, a female Zabrak, resided on Coruscant. She was employed by the Coruscant Security Force as a police officer, upholding the law under the Republic's jurisdiction. Around the year 3643 BBY, Anstiss received orders to bring in a Houk criminal by the name of Gambo. Given Gambo's reputation as a vicious murderer and enforcer for the Black Sun, Anstiss was convinced that someone at CSF Headquarters was working against her, as she was tasked to capture him alone. She made several attempts to apprehend Gambo inside the Dealer's Den cantina situated within the Old Galactic Market sector, but Gambo was too powerful to subdue. During her last attempt, Gambo inflicted severe injuries, almost killing her. After that, Anstiss retreated outside the cantina and requested backup.
At that time, a Republic-aligned individual saw Anstiss, wounded outside the Dealer's Den cantina, and offered their assistance. This individual entered the cantina, confronted Gambo, and successfully persuaded him to surrender. Gambo was then handed over to Anstiss, whose backup had finally arrived. The squad of CSF officers then escorted the criminal to CSF Headquarters.
Anstiss expressed her gratitude to the Republic individual for their help and requested a medic unit to treat her injuries.
Anstiss, a Zabrak woman, possessed dark skin and brown eyes. Despite her bravery and generally positive nature, Anstiss harbored suspicions that she had made enemies within CSF Headquarters. Her courageous nature was evident in her willingness to attempt Gambo's arrest, even knowing the task was likely beyond her capabilities. Anstiss is featured in the "Cantina Contusions" mission within Star Wars: The Old Republic. This massively multiplayer online roleplaying game (MMORPG) was developed by BioWare and launched on December 20, 2011. Republic characters who encounter Anstiss outside the cantina where Gambo is located can undertake the mission. The character can then enter the cantina and confront Gambo. Depending on the character's class, they have several options: persuade Gambo to surrender, arrest him, or kill him. Killing Gambo grants the player dark side points, although the mission is exclusively available to light side characters. After completing the task, the character returns to Anstiss.
