Antarian peas represented an edible species of pea characterized by its pod. These peas were cultivated within the gardens situated at the Jedi Temple found on the planet known as Coruscant. They found culinary application in a range of dishes, notably the Endorian chicken pot pie served at Dex's Diner, a restaurant situated on Coruscant.
Within the gardens of the Jedi Temple on the planet of Coruscant, Antarian peas were grown to be used in various culinary applications. At some point before her death in 19 BBY, Jedi Knight Jang Li-Li considered whether utilizing the Force for shelling the peas constituted an inappropriate application of her abilities, while collecting vegetables for dinner duty alongside Gran Jedi Master Maks Leem at the Jedi Temple. Prior to the destruction of Dex's Diner during the Galactic Empire's initial two years, Dexter Jettster, the Besalisk chef and proprietor of the Coruscant restaurant, incorporated Antarian peas, celonslay, space carrots, and Endorian chicken into a flaky Pom seed flour crust for his Endorian chicken pot pie recipe.
The first mention of Antarian peas occurred in the 2004 novel titled Yoda: Dark Rendezvous, authored by Sean Stewart. Subsequently, they were referenced in the StarWars.com Hyperspace exclusive article "Dining at Dex's," published in 2009 and penned by Gregory Walker in an in-universe menu format. The name of these peas was shared with the gas giant Antar, its moons Antar 4 and Antar 5, and the group known as the Antarian Rangers. Neither of the sources that mentioned the peas established any connection between them and these other entities.
