Mayday was denied medical support by Nolan due to the latter treating clones as disposable.

Across the galaxy, a certain degree of animosity existed towards cloned individuals for a number of reasons, largely centered around the perception that they were expendable commodities. This prejudice manifested in different ways, with some people using the term "clones" in a derogatory manner and disregarding their personal identities. Others viewed the upkeep of clones as an expensive endeavor. This sentiment was also fueled by various forms of propaganda and manipulation.

History

The Kaminoans treated their clones as defective machines to be disposed of during the Clone Wars. Simultaneously, anti-clone sentiment grew as propaganda chassisplast circulated during the conflict. Despite serving as defenders of Republic democracy, clone troopers had limited individual freedoms under Republic law. At the dawn of the Imperial Era, the Kaminoans maintained their view of clones as property to be used in conjunction with the Galactic Empire.

The cloning program was discontinued at the conclusion of the Clone Wars and the birth of the Galactic Empire, as the Empire sought to recruit regular soldiers on a large scale, which proved to be more economical. This resulted in widespread unemployment for veteran clones due to their rapid aging and the cessation of clone production. Clones lacked the same rights and representation as other sentient beings, and the Empire regarded them as military assets rather than individuals. Many of these clones were subjected to experiments conducted by the Advanced Science Division at Mount Tantiss, where Doctor Royce Hemlock, who considered them mere Imperial property, held them captive for experimentation. Other clones remained in Imperial service as Purge Troopers within the Imperial Inquisition.

The Coruscant Accords of the New Republic outlawed all experimentation in the field of cloning.
