Story Summary

The narrative of Apocalypse Endor centers around the experiences of a stormtrooper's life after retirement, specifically his time spent on Endor. The story commences within a cantina setting, taking place some years following the events of the Battle of Endor. The elderly man is questioned and taunted regarding the victory of the "cute and cuddly widdle" Ewoks over the Emperor's elite forces. In response, the former soldier recounts his personal history.

Years prior, upon establishing a base on the forest moon, the Imperial forces initiate contact with the indigenous population to assess their potential for hostility and understand their behavior. The Ewoks, exhibiting curiosity, extend a welcoming gesture to the troopers by offering flowers. However, when the Ewoks attempt to repurpose a stormtrooper's E-11 blaster rifle as a makeshift flower vase, the troopers, driven by paranoia, interpret this action as an attempt to sabotage their weaponry, leading them to open fire. Subsequently, the Ewoks become entirely hostile. As time passes, they engage in the abduction and murder of any stormtroopers they manage to capture, while also subjecting the entire garrison to psychological torment through the unsettling sounds of drums at night. During a daytime skirmish, Ewoks utilize vines to swing through the air, launching arrows that strike the troopers in their necks, exploiting vulnerable points in their armor. Furthermore, they manipulate the environment to cause stormtroopers to fall into pits filled with sharpened stone spikes and dislodge boulders onto other groups of soldiers.

As the remaining Imperial forces face encirclement, the narrator promptly surrenders and implores that the Ewoks be removed from the area. Back in the cantina, the veteran confesses to experiencing persistent insomnia since his time on Endor. However, he finds solace in the notion that the debris resulting from the second Death Star's destruction rained down upon the moon, leading to the deaths of numerous Ewoks. His companions in the cantina shatter this comforting delusion by revealing that the event is merely a myth, explaining that the majority of the debris was incinerated during the Death Star's violent explosion, with the remainder being intercepted by the Rebel forces, thus preventing any damage to the forest moon.
