Artifact of Aaris is an adventure module that takes place within the larger context of The DarkStryder Campaign. The events of this adventure occur in the year 8 ABY.
The FarStar's personnel are alerted to an emergency transmission originating from planet Aaris III, specifically from the Imperial scientific research unit designated MS-133. Upon reaching the planet's surface, the crew manages to save the final two members of the science team, who report an attack by unknown aggressors. However, a thorough search reveals no sign of any attackers; instead, the crew discovers only the deceased members of the science team. Subsequently, the crew members begin to experience increasing paranoia and animosity toward one another. The source of this effect is eventually determined to be an artifact, identified as the Plaque of Victory, unearthed by the science team during an excavation of ancient ruins. The detrimental influence of the Plaque is neutralized by ejecting it into the void of space via an airlock.
