During the Sictis Wars, which took place within the larger context of the New Sith Wars in 1230 BBY, Belia Darzu, the Dark Lord, met her end through assassination. This act was carried out by the Mecrosa Order, a clandestine organization operating from the Tapani sector. The assassination was the result of a broken alliance between Darzu and the Mecrosa. Although they had previously been associated with the Sith, the Mecrosa desired retribution against Darzu because of her unwelcome intrusion into their territory. Furthermore, Darzu was also double-crossed by her own Sith adherents, who were somehow involved in her murder. The Mecrosa utilized poison to bring about the Dark Lord's demise on Tython, a planet situated within the Deep Core of the galaxy. The demise of Lord Darzu crippled her army of technobeasts, known as the Metanecrons. Moreover, the Sith faction was left without an obvious successor to assume the title of Dark Lord.
