In the year 228 BBY, Naboo, a planet located in the Mid Rim, was the target of an assault. This operation was conducted by the Jedi Order, in conjunction with the Republic Defense Coalition, with the goal of liberating Naboo from the occupation by Nihil forces. These forces were commanded by General Abediah Viess. Although Jedi Master Avar Kriss, leading the joint Jedi and Republic forces, successfully liberated Naboo, Viess managed to evade capture.
The initial depiction of the assault on Naboo occurred in The High Republic: Temptation of the Force, a 2024 novel. Tessa Gratton authored the novel, which was released as part of Phase III of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia initiative.
