Assurance was a CR56 corvette helmed by Captain Pell Baylo throughout the Republic Era. The corvette, under Baylo's leadership, fulfilled multiple functions, such as serving in nine planetary defense organizations and providing security for eight different businesses. For a time, Assurance was a component of the Diplomatic Fleet belonging to the Galactic Republic's Judicial Forces; however, it was scheduled to serve Chokoll Indemnity along the Hydian Way afterward. Baylo stated that the starship's moniker made it a favorite among insurance providers. Assurance carried Jedi Master Depa Billaba to Keldooine, and subsequently Master Mace Windu came aboard the corvette to rendezvous with her for a mission directed toward Kwenn. Billaba's individual assignment, though, had taken her to Valboraan, with Assurance later playing a role in an attack targeting the base of the Riftwalkers pirate collective. Following Assurance's help in the defense of Kwenn, Windu arranged for the Republic to prolong its agreement with Baylo, and he also proposed that Baylo create a training vessel for the Republic.
