In the year 3 ABY, the Unbroken Clan launched an assault on a spice shipment belonging to the Mourner's Wail Syndicate. This attack took place at the Smugglers' Refueling Station within the Kessel sector.
Following the bombing on Chorgad, an event that resulted in the death of several Unbroken Clan soldiers, the Clan's General, Vukorah, sought retribution against the Mourner's Wail. This action was taken without the authorization of the Clan's Grand Leader. Vukorah, accompanied by four soldiers, journeyed to the Smugglers' Refueling Station. There, they found Mourner's Wail forces, overseen by an Iktotchi criminal and guarded by two Pyke sentinels, in the process of loading spice onto a ship destined for their distributors. The Iktotchi urged them to expedite the process, emphasizing the impatience of the syndicate's leader, Khamdek, known for his lack of tolerance for delays.
Immediately thereafter, Vukorah and her soldiers revealed their presence and proceeded to eliminate the individuals handling the spice transport and the Pykes. Vukorah declared that the spice would not reach its intended recipients, and that the Clan would be seizing it. The Iktotchi attempted to respond, but Vukorah swiftly silenced them with a fatal shot to the face.
As a retaliatory measure for the attack on their spice operation, the Mourner's Wail bombed an Unbroken Clan district located on Caviness IV. This act of aggression led to the deaths of twenty-seven adults and left several children injured.
