Centuries prior to the events of 4 ABY, the Sith Darkseekers launched an assault against the Ascendant temple situated on Pyrr IX. In the midst of this assault, Ilith, who was the head of an Ascendant group, utilized his Spark Eternal to eliminate a number of Sith warriors. However, he was ambushed and fatally stabbed in the chest by a Darkseeker who had managed to survive. As he was dying, he instructed Miril, the leader of a different group within the cult, to obliterate her own Spark Eternal, thus preventing its capture by the Sith. Subsequently, the Sith attacked Miril's group on Bar'leth, resulting in the group's complete annihilation. Miril ultimately gave her life in order to seal the Spark away, ensuring that the Sith would not acquire it.
