Avrey, a Human officer (specifically, a female communications officer), served the Republic during the Clone Wars. She was stationed on the cruiser named Indomitable. In a battle fought above the planet Kothlis against the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Avrey stayed on the Indomitable. General Grievous had disabled communications on the Indomitable, Pioneer, and Coruscant Sky, so Avrey worked to repair outdated decade-old systems.
In the year 21 BBY, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Ahsoka Tano were with her aboard the Indomitable. Admiral Yularen instructed her to remain on the ship when the Republic fleet traveled to Kothlis, and to prepare the ship's defenses against General Grievous' Separatist fleet. Upon exiting hyperspace, Avrey noticed the fleet's internal and external communication systems were inoperable. She discovered Grievous had activated a virus to cause this issue. After suggesting a solution, she successfully repaired the technology, which contributed to the Republic victory. Following the conclusion of the battle, she requested Obi-Wan to establish a connection to the Jedi Temple.
