Ayar

Ayar was a member of the Grand Army of the Republic as a clone trooper. He participated in the Battle of Teth with Torrent Company in 22 BBY. Tragically, during that battle, Ayar met his death at the hands of battle droid forces serving the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

Biography

Members of Torrent Company enter the monastery.

During the Clone Wars in 22 BBY, forces of the Galactic Republic's military, the Grand Army of the Republic, were sent to the planet Teth located in the Outer Rim. Their mission was to rescue Rotta, the offspring of Jabba Desilijic Tiure, who had been kidnapped by the Confederacy of Independent Systems. As part of the assault, Torrent Company of the 501st Legion's climbed the steep walls of the B'omarr Monastery where the Huttlet was being held captive. Despite taking significant losses, many members of the company survived the ascent, including Ayar.

Once inside the monastery, the Republic forces encountered 4A-7, a droid who was a Confederate spy disguised as the monastery's caretaker. Ayar, along with fellow clone troopers Lunn, Coric, and Vaize, and led by Jedi General Anakin Skywalker, confronted the droid. After incorrectly assessing 4A-7 as a simple caretaker droid, the men of Torrent Company began preparing for a defensive position against anticipated Confederacy counterattacks. While Ayar survived the initial attack, he, along with almost all of Torrent Company (except for six members), perished during the subsequent Confederate attacks on the monastery.

Personality and traits

Being a male Human clone originating from bounty hunter Jango Fett, Ayar's height was 1.83 meters, and his birthplace was the planet Kamino in Wild Space.

Equipment

Ayar's gear included a standard set of Phase I clone trooper armor, along with a night-vision visor attached to his helmet.

Behind the scenes

Ayar's first appearance occurred in Karen Traviss's novelization of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars film released in 2008. Although his death is not specifically described, the novel mentions that only six clone troopers from Torrent Company survived. Ayar was not among those listed, leading to the assumption in this article that he died sometime after the confrontation with 4A-7.
