Balmorra Orbital Station
The Balmorra Orbital Station, a space station in the Balmorra system within the Colonies, circled the planet Balmorra. During the Galactic War fought between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire, this station acted as a stopover for Republic vessels as they attempt to reclaim the planet. Because the Empire controlled Balmorra at the war's start, Republic ships used the station as a docking point, with passengers then taking shuttles to the Balmorran resistance's headquarters, Farnel Outpost, located in Bugtown. Bugtown itself was once a genetic research center, but it had been taken over by the insectoid Colicoids.
Behind the scenes
BioWare developed the Balmorra Orbital Station for Star Wars: The Old Republic, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game that launched on December 20, 2011. It is the spaceport for Republic players visiting Balmorra and is accessible only via a player's personal ship. From there, players can use a shuttle to reach the planet's surface.
