The Denarii Nova conflict took place within the Denarii system near the conclusion of the Great Hyperspace War around 5000 BBY.
After his failure on Korriban, Naga Sadow, the Sith Dark Lord, set a course for the Denarii system utilizing his Derriphan-class warship, named the Corsair. Being chased by Galactic Republic military forces, Sadow piloted his damaged command ship in between the binary stars of the Denarii Nova. The Sith magician then employed his abilities to control the solar eruptions of the Denarii Nova. The subsequent blast obliterated the Republic vessels pursuing him, which made it possible for him to fake his own demise.
This devastating occurrence also led to the annihilation of the entire star system, forming a cloud consisting of highly ionized matter that became known as the Denarii Nebula.
Following the battle's conclusion, Sadow, his Sith adherents, and his Massassi personnel took refuge on the tropical satellite Yavin 4.
