The Acherin conflict took place near the conclusion of the historical period known as the Clone Wars.
Early in the war, Acherin sided with the Separatist faction, due to growing apprehension about the increasing power of the Galactic Republic.
The fighting continued until the war's final moments, at which point the Separatist leaders on Acherin initiated peace talks with Jedi General Garen Muln.
The negotiations were proceeding favorably until Supreme Chancellor Palpatine gave Order 66, which identified Muln as an enemy of the Republic. Raina Quill and Toma aided Garen Muln's covert escape from Acherin when the clone troopers arrived to apprehend him.
Recognizing the danger posed by the newly formed Galactic Empire, the inhabitants of Acherin initiated a resistance movement, leading to a subsequent battle that persisted for nearly twelve months.
