Raina Quill, originating from the world of Acherin, was a woman of Humanoid descent. During the Clone Wars, she served the Confederacy of Independent Systems.
Before the events of the Clone Wars, Raina had completed her medical studies, aspiring to become a physician. However, her home planet soon aligned itself with the Separatist faction. While the leadership of this cause was motivated by corruption and avarice, she joined because she believed in Acherin's right to independence, regardless of the leadership's intentions. Raina also held concerns that the Republic's authority was becoming excessively absolute.
Raina fought for the Separatists throughout almost the entire conflict. Eventually, she and another Separatist commander, Toma, initiated negotiations with Senior Jedi General Garen Muln to establish a ceasefire. These discussions showed considerable progress, but Supreme Chancellor Palpatine then initiated Order 66. Raina and Toma aided Muln in secretly escaping Acherin, enabling him to find refuge on Ilum. Witnessing the nature of the emerging Empire, the people of Acherin formed a resistance movement. Raina, along with Toma, rose to become a leading commander within this resistance, and was a highly skilled pilot during combat.
Almost a year after the Clone Wars concluded, the resistance was on the verge of collapse. The Imperial forces, under the command of Admiral Riwwel, proved to be overwhelmingly powerful against the poorly equipped resistance fighters. On the final day of the resistance's struggle, Raina, while being pursued by Imperial fighters, encountered a group of unfamiliar individuals from off-world: a Jedi Master named Obi-Wan Kenobi, a former Jedi-turned-rebel named Ferus Olin, and a thirteen-year-old boy named Trever Flume. She guided them to the resistance base in the city of Eluthan and introduced them to Toma. Alongside Ferus, Raina piloted her starfighter in an attempt to repel the invading Imperials, but their efforts were unsuccessful. They returned to the others and fled Acherin as Riwwel ordered Eluthan to be bombed.
After leaving Acherin, and still being pursued by Imperial forces, Raina navigated their ship into an asteroid field during an atmospheric storm. By landing on an asteroid, they would be undetectable by the Imperials. Raina and Toma remained on the asteroid for several days while Ferus, Obi-Wan, and Trever journeyed to Ilum to rescue Garen Muln. They stayed there for a few days, with adequate food and supplies. Upon the trio's return with Garen, additional supplies, and prefabricated shelters, Raina established a makeshift clinic, utilizing her medical expertise to assist the malnourished Garen in his recovery.
Ferus Olin expressed his gratitude to Raina and Toma for their assistance and offered them the opportunity to help him locate and rescue more Jedi survivors, while using the asteroid as a secure sanctuary. Raina and Toma readily accepted this offer.
When resistance leaders from across the galaxy were brought to the base, Raina discovered Toma transmitting their coordinates to Darth Vader. Realizing that Toma was a mole planted by Vader, he fired his blaster, fatally wounding her. However, before she died, she managed to kill him.
