Battle of Ohma-D'un

The clash known as the Battle of Ohma-D'un, alternatively called the Defense of Naboo, represented a conflict of limited scale. Its occurrence was approximately ten weeks subsequent to the Battle of Geonosis.

Historical Context

Following the loss of communication between the planet Naboo and a Gungan settlement situated on one of Naboo's satellites, specifically Ohma-D'un, the Republic dispatched a quartet of Jedi for investigative purposes. This team was composed of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Master Glaive, and Zule Xiss. To maintain a low profile, the team utilized a solitary gunship for their transit to the moon.

The fate of the Gungan colony was rapidly discovered. Every single Gungan had perished as a result of a peculiar chemical weapon, developed by the Separatist scientist Jenna Zan Arbor. The Jedi became infected with the toxin; however, its effects manifested more slowly in non-Gungan physiology.

The Brief Engagement

The Jedi encounter Asajj Ventress.

The Jedi soon faced opposition in the form of Ohma-D'un super battle droids, B2 super battle droids, and the mercenary Durge, and engaged them in combat. Durge eliminated all of the clone troopers with the exception of a single Advanced Recon Commando known as Alpha-17, who was part of the mission. During the Jedi's confrontation with Durge, he alluded to captives (spice miners), prompting Obi-Wan to dispatch Anakin and the ARC trooper to secure their release.

Subsequently, Glaive was taken by surprise and suffered decapitation at the hands of the Separatist commander, Asajj Ventress. She then engaged Obi-Wan in a duel, seemingly employing the Dark Side to revive deceased Gungans for her benefit. Meanwhile, Anakin and the ARC trooper successfully liberated the prisoners and destroyed the gas capsules that were being loaded onto spice freighters bound for Naboo. They then returned to assist Obi-Wan, and together they overcame Ventress. Nevertheless, the pair managed to escape, though Naboo was no longer under immediate threat.
