Battle of Solay

The Battle of Solay refers to a string of conflicts that started during the Solay Civil War. These conflicts then extended into the Galactic Civil War when the tyrannical ruler, King Blackart of Solay, allied himself with the Galactic Empire.

History

A rebellious force, under the command of a man named Raggold, fought against Blackart. Unbeknownst to everyone involved, Raggold had struck a bargain with the Empire in his youth. He would spearhead the rebellion to a successful conclusion on Solay, backed by Imperial funding. Following this, the Empire would intervene and assume direct governance of the world. Shortly after the Battle of Endor, the renowned Rebel Alliance figure Luke Skywalker landed on Solay, seeking potential new members for the Alliance. He took part in the Civil War's final engagement, fighting alongside Raggold and Mary in their ultimate assault on the royal palace. As the rebels stormed Blackart's stronghold, Raggold, realizing the ultimate consequences of his triumph, shot and killed himself. His attachment to the people he led had grown so strong that he chose to become a stark representation of freedom, sacrificing himself before the battle's true conclusion.

Aftermath

Raggold's self-inflicted death was not immediately understood, and the Solay resistance initially thought he was killed by a traitor within their ranks. Nevertheless, the infochant Braxas disclosed holo recordings of the suicide to Skywalker, in return for safe passage away from the planet.
