Tofen Vane spearheaded an assault with his Tempest Zero squadron on the Republic's blockade, which was under the command of Admiral Aldanna. In the midst of this combat, Tofen managed to shoot down Anakin Skywalker's Delta-7B Aethersprite-class light interceptor, gaining an advantage over the Jedi. While his squadron achieved initial gains, they were compelled to withdraw upon the arrival of Republic backup, commanded by Admiral Wullf Yularen.
