Berethron e Solo was a monarch from Corellia who held the title of King. During the period known as the Golden Age of the Old Republic, he reigned and is credited with establishing a democratic system within the Corellian empire.
He relinquished his complete autocratic power in 312 BBY, transitioning the governing structure of the planet to one resembling a constitutional monarchy.
It was believed that Han Solo, along with his relative Thrackan Sal-Solo, were both members of Berethron's lineage. The droid C-3PO referenced this ancestry in 8 ABY to demonstrate Solo's suitability to wed Leia Organa in front of the Hapan Royal House. Korol Solo, Han's great-grandfather, who was thought to be a descendant of Berethron, leveraged this connection to assert his claim as a possible heir to the Corellian empire's throne, however he was executed for the offenses he committed.
