General Biel was an officer in the Imperial military, a Human male, who was assigned to the Tarkin superweapon circa 3 ABY. He participated in a plot with other officers to murder Darth Vader because of his habit of executing his own officers. The Tarkin, however, suffered sabotage and destruction by a Rebel assault, resulting in the death of the general and everyone else on the station.
Around 3 ABY, Biel, a Human male who held the general rank within the Galactic Empire, found himself stationed on the Tarkin superweapon. He was the highest-ranking participant in a conspiracy of dissatisfied officers determined to assassinate Darth Vader due to the Sith Lord's cruel treatment of his subordinates. The general put forth the idea that, with Vader's attention focused on confronting the Rebel Luke Skywalker, an opportunity to assassinate Vader had presented itself. Colonel Nord concurred and attempted to eliminate Vader by opening an airlock near the Dark Lord as he pursued Skywalker (who had infiltrated the station), but Darth Vader was able to survive the attempt. During Vader's engagement with the Rebels in a space battle, Nord made another attempt on his life, intending to kill both Vader and the Rebels using the Tarkin's superlaser. However, the firing mechanism had been sabotaged by Rebel operatives, leading to the station's self-destruction and the demise of all those aboard, including Biel.
The general, repulsed by Vader's harshness towards his officers, joined a conspiracy with the goal of eliminating Darth Vader during his visit to the Tarkin battle station. Biel appeared as a middle-aged Human male with greying hair, typically seen wearing a standard Imperial officer's uniform.
Biel's character was introduced in the fifty-second edition of the Marvel Star Wars comic book series, titled To Take The Tarkin.
