Biran Redben was a male human criminal operating as a thief within a gang during the New Republic Era. Eventually, he faced arrest for medical malpractice and received a fifty-year sentence on Tamazall. In approximately 9 ABY, he and some fellow criminals laid an ambush for Din Djarin, the Mandalorian bounty hunter, on Tatooine. Their objective was to seize Grogu, Djarin's infant companion who possessed significant Force sensitivity. Despite initially catching the Mandalorian off guard, Redben's group was eventually overcome in the ensuing fight.
Later, Carasynthia Dune, serving as Marshal, reviewed Redben's New Republic prison registry entry from her Nevarro office while seeking information on prisoner Migs Mayfeld.
Biran Redben's initial appearance was in "Chapter 10: The Passenger," the second installment of The Mandalorian's second season, which premiered on November 6, 2020. The character lacked identification in the episode itself. Biran Redben was only identified later via Aurebesh text in "Chapter 14: The Tragedy," the season's sixth episode, which debuted on December 4, 2020.
