Warden Bissley Kloth was in charge of all the prisoners being transported on the Imperial prison barge known as the Purge.
Kloth started as a crew member on the Purge at seventeen years of age, and by the time he was twenty-two, he had risen to the position of navigator and second-in-command, serving under Wyatt Styrene, with the ambition of one day holding the warden's title himself. While transporting prisoners to Cog Hive Seven, Jabba Desilijic Tiure hijacked the ship. Eventually, Kloth achieved his goal and became the vessel's captain and warden.
Thirty-two years later, the Purge's engines failed, necessitating a team to retrieve spare parts from a nearby abandoned Star Destroyer. Upon their return, they carried a strange and contagious disease. When questioned in the medbay about their experience, all they could say was the word "Blackwing." Bissley communicated the situation to his superior, Sergeant Hazar Yupcavage. Despite isolating the infected, the disease continued to spread, and a distress signal was broadcast to all Imperial ships in the area.
After crewmates began dying aboard the Purge, Jareth Sartoris sought out the warden. He found Kloth cowering under his desk, his body consumed by illness. Sartoris demanded the launch codes for the escape pods, but Kloth hesitated, insisting Sartoris carry him to a pod. Sartoris threatened to kill him if he didn't hand over the codes. Kloth relented, giving him the codes, and then taunted Sartoris by asking if he wanted to know his evaluation test score, implying it was low. Sartoris responded, "I think we both know how I did," and then executed the warden by shooting him in the face twice at point-blank range with seized blaster rifles, severing Kloth's head.
