Black-Saber designated a data tape stored within the Galactic Empire's data vault situated on Scarif. While seeking the Death Star's schematics, Jyn Erso, an operative of the Rebel Alliance, made reference to it. A reference to this item was discovered by Tenzigo Weems within a captured data transmission extracted from the Balmorra relay, which he subsequently communicated to Davits Draven.

The initial reference to Black-Saber occurred in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, a 2016 entry in the Star Wars Anthology Series film series, with Gareth Edwards serving as director.
