Bloodory's distillation

A liquid concoction, Bloodory's distillation, came about as a result of research conducted by Bloodory, a scientist and Doctor from the world of Aquilae.

History

This fluid, holding the knowledge and experience of scientists, was obtained through extraction from their brains. As the Galactic Empire prepared to attack Aquilae, a total of 33 vials were made ready for Luke Skywalker to transport to the Chrome Companies situated on Ophuchi. These vials were intended as compensation for assistance against the Empire. By injecting this fluid into the brains of clones, the scientists could be replicated, retaining all of their knowledge, training, and intellect. Skywalker used a specialized shock belt to safeguard the vials during transport. However, the vials were never delivered to Ophuchi because Skywalker's mission was changed due to the destruction of a hijacked Imperial starship above Yavin. Whether the knowledge required to produce the distillation was lost with Dr. Bloodory, when the Underground Fortress was obliterated by the Empire using nuclear bombs, remains a mystery.

Behind the scenes

This marks the first time the idea of clones was brought up during the creation of the Star Wars story.

The process's effect on the scientists who were subjected to it, specifically whether it leads to their death, is not clear.
