Boba Begins

Boba Begins is an article penned by Pete Vilmur and featured in Star Wars Insider 99. This piece of writing provides evidence that Boba Fett's initial debut occurred at the San Anselmo's Community Fair and Parade on September 24, 1978. This pre-dates the airing of The Star Wars Holiday Special by almost a couple of months. It has also been reprinted in Star Wars Insider: Rogues, Scoundrels, and Bounty Hunters.
