Publisher's summary

'Put your trust in no one. Especially not a bounty hunter.'

Aurra Sing requires Boba's assistance, and Boba, in turn, needs Aurra Sing. Yet, mutual trust is impossible. Every action could be a betrayal. Every statement, a falsehood.

As the pursuit of Jango Fett's inheritance escalates into perilous complexity, young Boba Fett must outwit and outmaneuver adversaries of all kinds—including those concealed. His future career as a bounty hunter hinges on his success.

Plot summary

The narrative commences with Aurra Sing transporting Boba and Slave I to Aargau. Upon observing the planet's labyrinthine structure, Boba immediately began devising an escape plan, hoping to evade Aurra Sing by abandoning her within the maze. A customs dispute arose when Sing resisted surrendering her weapons, but the presence of an IG-series Assassin droid compelled her compliance. Fett was permitted to remain behind while Aurra Sing was escorted back to the ship to secure her weaponry.

While Boba waited, he noticed Sing had inadvertently left behind the info card granting access to the Fett account. Securing the card, he began moving towards the turbolifts that led to the lower levels, noticing someone was following him. Fortunately for Boba, his pursuer was not Aurra Sing, but a young clone trooper returning the "book" Fett had dropped. However, Sing soon arrived at the turbolifts, searching for Fett.

Mistaking the clone trooper, known as 9779, for Fett, Sing apprehended him. Boba promptly departed the scene and began his search for the bank holding his father's funds. Before proceeding, he opened the "book" Jango had provided, which instructed him to "never seek out help." While contemplating his next move, a supposed Bimm named Nuri approached him. During their conversation, Boba noticed Aurra Sing nearby. Nuri guided Boba to the Undercity, claiming his father's fortune was located there. They eventually reached a machine where Nuri attempted to siphon all the money from Boba's account. However Boba managed to thwart Nuri before the funds were completely drained. Nuri then revealed himself as a Clawdite, seized some of the money, and fled. Boba then discovered the location of the remaining funds and raced to retrieve them. After outsmarting Aurra Sing, he secured the rest of his money and departed Aargau aboard Slave I.
