Bolan, a Nikto slicer of the male persuasion, participated in the Galactic War that pitted the Galactic Republic against the reestablished Sith Empire. Possessing a peculiar character, he was capable of communicating in Galactic Basic Standard because of brain implants. He spearheaded a techno-criminal syndicate of Niktos called the Circle, initially in the service of Darth Zash. However, the Galactic Republic later incarcerated them on Belsavis. During the Invasion of Belsavis circa 3641 BBY, Bolan and his Circle gained their freedom, choosing to stay on the planet because of the advanced technology present on the Rakatan world. Later in the conflict, the Force-walker Kallig sought them out. The Nikto aided the ailing Lord of the Sith in locating the Mother Machine, receiving in return the Sith's promise to establish communication channels connecting Belsavis to the larger galaxy, thus expanding the criminal group's reach.
