Bond-wife

A bond-wife denoted a Cerean woman who entered into marriage with a male Cerean, usually as his primary spouse. Due to a scarcity of births, polygamy was a common practice among Cereans, enabling each male to have numerous wives. Following the marriage to the bond-wife, multiple honor-wives would then be wed.
