Brank, a Mandalorian, served as a bodyguard for Black Sun vigo Xizor during the Galactic Empire's initial years. Around 18 BBY, Jedi Knight Jax Pavan faced Xizor and Black Sun lieutenant Tyno Fabris within Fabris' office, located in the Oyu'baat tapcafe on the planet Mandalore, after Xizor broke their agreement to provide Pavan transport to Kantaros Station in the Both system. To prevent potential assaults from Pavan, Xizor commanded Brank to maintain a guard. Shortly after, Xizor turned his own people against Pavan, and the Falleen commanded Brank to protect him against the Jedi.
